Spectacle Blind – Product Overview
A Spectacle Blind is a single-piece piping component consisting of a solid blind plate and an open spacer plate connected by a narrow web. Its characteristic figure-eight design allows the operator to change the piping system between an open-flow and closed-isolation position.
In the open position, the spacer opening is aligned with the pipe bore, allowing normal flow.
In the closed position, the solid blind plate is positioned between the mating flanges to completely block the pipeline.
This arrangement provides a clear and physical indication of the isolation status of the piping system.
